Overview
Our lawyers and agents assist clients with their Canadian and foreign trademark portfolios, including trademark clearance, registration, maintenance and enforcement. Our services include providing freedom to operate and registrability opinions, preparation and prosecution trademark applications, advising on agreements that relate to trademarks, such as franchise and license agreements, and advice on all aspects of trademark law.
Internationally, we assist our clients with the filing of trademark applications at the World Intellectual Property Organization under the Madrid Protocol and we maintain a close working relationship with a network of foreign trademark professionals to facilitate our clients’ international trademark registrations and enforcement of their trademark rights.
We are skilled at representing clients in enforcement proceedings and litigation, including anti-counterfeiting, trademark infringement, depreciation of goodwill and passing off claims, and in opposition and expungement proceedings before the Trademarks Office.
