Dan is a lawyer and registered trademark agent. His practice focuses on corporate/commercial law, intellectual property, and technology law.

Dan’s broad corporate and commercial experience includes transactions in mergers and acquisitions and secured lending. He assists both start-ups and established businesses with their various business needs.

His intellectual property experience includes drafting and negotiating intellectual property-related agreements, conducting due diligence on target intellectual property in acquisitions, and advising clients on commercializing and protecting their intellectual property. Dan is licensed as a trademark agent by the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents, permitting him to represent clients before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office on all trademarks matters, including pursuing trademark registrations.

On the technology side, Dan regularly drafts, reviews, and advises on contracts relating to technology procurement and licensing, including software and artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, Dan assists clients with regulatory and legal issues such as privacy law, marketing, anti-spam legislation, and advertising, such as influencer marketing and greenwashing.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Winnipeg, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (gold medallist) and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (gold medallist). He has received several scholarships and distinctions for his exceptional academic performance, including placing on the Dean's Honour List for placing in the top 10% of third-year law students and receiving the Maitland Steinkopf Entrance Scholarship to the Faculty of Law. He was also a recipient of the Tallman Foundation Scholarship.
