Biography
Darrell practises primarily in the field of family law.
He has appeared as counsel in family cases before the Manitoba Court of Appeal, the Manitoba Court of King's Bench, and the Provincial Courts of Manitoba. His family practice includes all matters related to separation, divorce, parenting time, asset division, trust and support issues, as well as drafting separation, cohabitation, and pre-nuptial agreements. He also assists domestic clients with cases involving claims for protective relief, as well as matters related to child protection and guardianship. Darrell provides services from either a litigation or collaboration perspective, depending upon the individual needs of his clients. He has extensive experience with cases involving the valuation of shares of closely held corporations, and the determination of income for child and spousal support purposes.
He also practises in the field of estates litigation, with a particular emphasis on cases involving claims for support and a division of assets, following the death of a spouse, common-law partner or parent. He assists clients with matters involving the validity of Wills, the removal of executors and trustees, the interpretation or variation of trusts, and the passing of accounts.
Darrell has served on a volunteer basis with various philanthropic organizations over the years.
