We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • Legal Assistant-Litigation

    • We are a Winnipeg based, full service law firm in the heart of downtown looking for an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to assist at the partnership level.  The incumbent will be able to take direction well, and be self-motivated to work independently. 

      Responsibilities will include:

      • Prepare legal documents based on instructions, by lawyer and by referring to precedents, where required
      • Draft correspondence for lawyer
      • Proofread and edit all documentation for grammar, spelling, and content accuracy
      • Perform all administrative accounting tasks, such as file opening, conflict searches, time entry, billing, cheque requisitions, trust deposits, etc.
      • Assist with general practice office management, including filing, scheduling meetings and court dates, and travel arrangements
      • Conduct legal searches as directed by lawyer

  • In-House Courier

    • We are a Winnipeg based, full service law firm in the heart of downtown looking for a full-time In-House Courier.  The incumbent will be able to take direction well, and be self-motivated to work independently.  

      Qualifications/Requirements:

      • Pickup and delivery of a wide variety of items while adhering to a standard schedule
      • Provide a high level of customer service for our clients
      • Present a polite and professional image of the firm
      • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
      • Maintain accurate records and documentation
      • Effective communication with staff and lawyers
      • Internal office deliveries
      • Excellent knowledge of the downtown area is an asset
      • Ability to lift file boxes up to 20 lbs.

  • Operations and Business Processes Manager

    • Fillmore Riley LLP is a highly regarded and accomplished full-service law firm located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. We are seeking a Manager, Operations and Business Processes to join our team of professionals. Under the direction of the Executive, and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the MOBP will manage office administration and procedures and streamline workflows to achieve organizational efficiency and excellence. The successful candidate will be a results oriented individual who thrives working in a dynamic, professional services environment with a high-performing team.

      The MOBP will oversee the daily operational functions of the firm and manage direct reports in operations and administration. The MOBP will analyze processes and procedures, make recommendations on streamlining workflows with a key focus on digitization, and implement improved processes and systems.

      The MOPB will have a broad range of responsibilities, from onboarding new team members to managing special projects. A manager who excels in making work processes, layouts and teams more efficient will flourish in this role.

      Skills and Experience

      • Highly organized and adept at setting priorities with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
      • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
      • Experienced managing people and workflow
      • High level of professionalism and good judgement stemming from experience working with sensitive and confidential information

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration or similar field
      • At least five years of work experience in a management role
      • Expert knowledge of Excel and Word
      • Completion of project management certification or experience with project management software is an asset
