We have an immediate opening in our full-service foreclosure department for a Property Management Paralegal.
Responsibilities
- Retaining and directing realtors
- Receiving and responding to offers on property
- Coordinating valuations from appraisers and from realtors
- Tracking certain costs compared to amounts allowable by CMHC/Sagen
- Preparing insurance claims to CMHC/Sagen
Core Competencies
- Experience in real estate, banking or insurance is considered an asset
- Possess strong skills with web-based technology and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess ability to work independently within a team framework
- Eager to work in a fast-paced environment

Immigration Legal Assistant

We have an opening for an experienced Immigration Legal Assistant to assist at the partnership level. The incumbent will be able to take direction well, have detailed office and file organization skills and be self-motivated to work independently. The position is an in-office, in-person only position.
Responsibilities
- Interacting with clients, by telephone and in-person
- Prepare letters and other correspondence
- Set meetings, organize lawyer calendar, prioritize tasks
- Data Entry on government forms including for permanent residence, work permits, status extensions, and criminal inadmissibility, etc.
- Monitor changes to immigration forms, and government website updates,
- Draft expense claims and organize deliveries
- Prepare, coordinate and monitor employment advertisements for LMIAs for clients
Core Competencies
- 3 or more years of experience as an Immigration Legal Assistant
- Sound judgment and strong problem solving skills
- Excellent people and communications skills
- Ability to learn quickly and retain complex information
- Possess strong computer, online research and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of the immigration websites

Litigation Legal Assistant

Fillmore Riley LLP is a highly regarded and accomplished full-service law firm located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. We have an immediate opening for a Litigation Legal Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, preferably with some experience in banking law.
Responsibilities
- Perform all administrative accounting tasks, such as file opening, conflict searches, time entry, e-billing, cheque requisitions, trust deposits, etc.
- Arrange service of documents with process server
- Prepare legal documents based on instructions by lawyer and by referring to precedents, where required
- Keep records of matter status and communicate status to client as directed by lawyer
- Draft correspondence including demand letters
- Proofread and edit all documents for grammar, spelling and content accuracy
- Assist with general practice office management, including filing, scheduling meetings and court dates
Core Competencies
- Three or more years experience as litigation legal assistant
- Exercise sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Possess strong computer and organizational skills
