We are currently hiring for the following positions:

  • Litigation Legal Assistant

    • Fillmore Riley LLP is a highly regarded and accomplished full-service law firm located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Join a firm that is routinely entrusted to work on some of the most complex and sophisticated transactions involving Canada’s most prominent companies.

      The role of a Litigation Legal Assistant is to prepare, coordinate, revise, transcribe, and organize legal and administrative matters, as well as keeping up with practice management needs. This role will provide support in all aspects of litigation and e-Discovery.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform all administrative accounting tasks, such as file opening, conflict searches, time entry, e-billing, cheque requisitions, trust deposits, etc.
      • Arrange service of documents with process server
      • Prepare legal documents based on instructions by lawyer and by referring to precedents, where required
      • Draft correspondence including demand letters
      • Proofread and edit all documents for grammar, spelling and content accuracy
      • Assist with general practice office management, including filing, scheduling meetings and court dates
      • Work with large complex document sets and compile, review and organize clients’ electronic documents

      • Exercise critical thinking with attention to detail and consistently produce high-quality work
      • Proficient with software and able to adapt to new technologies
      • Able to prioritize competing deadlines and complete complex assignments with minimal supervision
      • Thrives in a fast-paced environment

      • Prepare key documents required to form Manitoba and Federal corporations, professional corporations and limited partnerships.

      • Register business names.
      • Create and maintain electronic corporate minute books.
      • Assist in the preparation and closing of corporate transactions.
