  • Human Resources Coordinator

    • Fillmore Riley LLP is a highly regarded and accomplished full-service law firm located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. We have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Coordinator. Working closely with the Human Resources Manager, you will assist with recruitment and staffing and administer all functions relating to payroll and benefits. You will also help with the day-to-day coordination and support of employee-related matters.

      Responsibilities

      • Administering payroll and benefits
      • Developing and executing recruitment strategies
      • Coordinating onboarding of new team members
      • Updating HR policies and posting on intranet
      • Assisting HR Manager with the coordination of employee perks and recognition initiatives
      • Writing ad hoc reports as requested by HR Manager
      • Providing administrative support to the HR Manager
      Skills and Experience
      • Highly organized, efficient and adept at setting priorities with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
      • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with support staff, senior management and lawyers
      • High level of professionalism and good judgement stemming from experience working with sensitive and confidential information
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office with particular proficiency in Excel
      • Experience with payroll software and thorough knowledge of human resource legislation and Canada Revenue’s payroll-related regulations
      Qualifications
      • Post-secondary education, preferably the completion of a degree, diploma, or certificate program with a specialty in HR, is required
      • Minimum of three years of work experience in an HR administrative or generalist role

      Responsibilities

      • Interact with clients on phone and in person
      • Prepare letters and other correspondence
      • Prepare and revise corporate transactional documents
      • Organize documents for corporate closings
      • Prepare corporate closing books
      • Order searches and conduct due diligence inquiries
      • Complete LTO service requests

      Core Competencies

      • Three or more years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant

  • Legal Assistant - Litigation

    • Fillmore Riley LLP is a highly regarded and accomplished full-service law firm located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg.  We have an immediate opening for a Litigation Legal Assistant to assist at the partnership level. 

      Responsibilities

      • Prepare legal documents based on instructions by lawyer and by referring to precedents, where required
      • Draft correspondence 
      • Proofread and edit all documents for grammar, spelling and content accuracy
      • Perform all administrative accounting tasks, such as file opening, conflict searches, time entry, billing, cheque requisitions, trust deposits, etc.
      • Assist with general practice office management, including filing, scheduling meetings and court dates, and travel arrangements
      • Conduct legal searches as directed by lawyer
