Biography

Ari is a partner in the litigation and tax groups.

His tax practice focuses on Canada Revenue Agency audits, objections to appeals and appeals to the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. Ari also has a robust commercial litigation practice, particularly in the areas of real estate litigation, including expropriation and intellectual property disputes, including trademark and copyright matters.

Most of Ari’s tax and commercial litigation clients are enterprises drawn from the Manitoba economy, and he also acts for individuals and trust professionals in disputes related to estates and powers of attorney. Ari also has a focus on aviation litigation, including representation of airlines and insurers in all manner of industry-related disputes.  

Ari is the Past President of Jewish Child & Family Services of Manitoba, having served as a board member since 2012. He was the 2022 recipient of the Max Nathanson Young Leadership Award recognizing his longtime volunteer commitment and leadership in Winnipeg's Jewish community. Ari has also served as a volunteer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Manitoba, including having coached the faculty’s teams in the National Corporate Securities Moot and the National Tax Moot.
