Winnipeg Sea Bears host 2025 Canadian Elite Basketball League Championship Weekend

Fillmore Riley congratulates the Winnipeg Sea Bears on hosting the 2025 Championship Weekend (CW25), Canada's biggest annual basketball event.

The event, running from August 21 – 24, is a celebration of culture, music, community and Canadian basketball. Hosted in collaboration with the Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg, the weekend features the top CEBL teams competing to win the league championship trophy, a concert lineup showcasing exciting musical performers, minor basketball events, and an array of activities designed to engage a cross-section of the local community.

The Sea Bears earned an automatic berth in the tournament in their capacity as the host city. The team's organizational excellence was on display once again in their third season, as they a set a new league-wide season attendance record. In 2025, the team welcomed 92,103 exuberant fans to the Canada Life Centre, breaking their own record of 86,275 set in 2024.
