Triple-threat Jessica Isaak takes to the stage in support of the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.

Fillmore Riley’s Jessica Isaak will perform in the 2016 Lawyers’ Play, La Cage aux Folles. As a former Canadian Idol contestant, a dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and a performer in the Fringe Festival, Jessica brings her triple-threat talents to the campy, Tony award-winning musical.

Based on the play by Jean Poiret, La Cage aux Folles draws the audience into the farcical world of a Saint-Tropez nightclub managed by Georges, where drag queens perform, including Georges’s romantic partner Albin who’s the star attraction. Hilarity ensues when Georges’s son, Jean-Michel, brings home his fiancée’s traditional parents to meet his unconventional family.

Jessica, along with 24 talented lawyers, devoted countless hours to rehearsals. “It is a lot of work, but it is a great cause. The Royal MTC and the Fringe Festival bring so much to Winnipeg’s vibrant cultural scene.”

Since 1990, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (MTC) and the Manitoba Bar Association have teamed up to raise funds for Royal MTC’s productions, including the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. The joint-fundraising effort has raised almost $1 million to date.

The musical runs April 26 to 30, 2016. To purchase tickets visit, mtc.mb.ca.
