Articling at Fillmore Riley LLP

Your future is our future.

At Fillmore Riley, we know that the strength of our firm comes from attracting and keeping talented lawyers. We also know that when we invest in your future, we invest in our own. That’s why we take the responsibility of giving our students a comprehensive articling experience very seriously.

We offer our students a well-rounded, rewarding experience in a forward-thinking, full-service firm. As one of our articling students, you will enjoy a friendly, collegial culture and professional work environment that includes having your own office.

We have even developed our own “Gatekeeper System” that gives our students a consistent, well-balanced and manageable work flow. Read more about it at

Why Fillmore Riley LLP?
A tradition of growth from within.

We have traditionally hired two to four articling students. The exact number of articling students that we intend to hire is determined on a year-by-year basis depending on our firm’s needs. Our efforts
in hiring and training articling students are consciously directed towards future growth and development. Over the past decade, over 98 per cent of our students have been offered positions with the firm.

Salary & benefits for articling students.

Our articling students receive compensation that is competitive with other leading law firms in Manitoba and enjoy two weeks of paid vacation. Our students also receive coverage under a comprehensive group insurance plan which includes health, travel and life insurance benefits.

Fillmore Riley also covers:

  • Bar Admission Course fees
  • Fees for various Bar Association and Law Society seminars and lectures
  • Call and yearly practising fees for students joining our firm as lawyers
