Fillmore Riley’s Motion to Strike Cancer exceeded $50,000 fundraising goal for CancerCare Manitoba.
Fillmore Riley’s team “Motion to Strike Cancer” raised $50,621 as participants in Challenge for Life 2.0.
Leading up to and on event day, more than 50 team members were involved in Challenge for Life as walkers, fundraisers or volunteers. If you factor in the purchase of tickets for fundraising initiatives as well as donations, this event involved almost every member of Fillmore Riley.
The Motion to Strike Cancer team had 29 participants who each committed to raise $500 and either “walk it” or “work it” on June 9, 2018. Fillmore Riley’s Stuart Blake, a partner of Fillmore Riley and one of Challenge for Life’s top fundraisers, singlehandedly raised $21,376, and many other team members raised significantly more than the $500 minimum.
“Once again our firm came together to make a difference in the community. I would like to thank everyone who helped us to achieve our goal,” said Stuart who is a member of the Board of Directors at CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. “Almost everyone on the team has been affected by cancer in one way or another, so this is an important cause for our firm. I am delighted our team achieved fundraising target.”
CancerCare Manitoba Foundation's 11th-annual Challenge for Life raised a total of $1,085,512. Through Fillmore Riley’s past participation in the Challenge for Life Walk and the Dragon Boat Festival, the firm has raised more than $250,000 that went towards helping Manitobans of all ages affected by cancer.
