Areas of Focus
Sven practises primarily in the areas of environmental regulatory law and civil litigation. He combines his engineering background and legal expertise to provide effective advice and representation to clients in the energy, manufacturing, construction, transportation and real estate sectors.
Representative Clients / Cases / Transactions
- Environmental counsel to a manufacturer of airplane turbines with respect to its Ontario operations
- Defence of environmental prosecutions involving spills and failure to report charges
- Regulatory permitting advice to several wind farm developers
- Transactional due diligence with respect to environmental issues on several large commercial transactions
- Risk management and compliance advice to a commercial real estate management company
- Prosecution and defence of several contaminated land lawsuits
- Recovery of several hundred thousand dollars in outstanding optional services charges for a large Canadian common carrier
- Defence of subrogated claims involving lost, stolen, or damaged cargo
