Sofia Mirza to Moderate Panel at the 2015 National Immigration Law Conference in Ottawa.
Sofia Mirza, a cross border/immigration lawyer and partner of Fillmore Riley LLP, will moderate a panel at The Canadian Bar Association’s 2015 National Immigration Law Conference in Ottawa.
The conference titled, “Innovation Nation: Reshaping Policy; Reimagining Practice,” will focus on legal developments in the ever-changing law around immigration, including details of the new Express Entry regime and the new Labour Market Impact Assessment landscape given recent changes to the law in June 2014.
Sofia is a part of a session titled “Immigration Issues for Young People” that examines immigration issues faced by young people/students and the unique rules and programs available to them, including international experience class applications, study permit applications, guardianship of minor applicants and strategies for transitioning to permanent residence. The conference will be held in Ottawa at the Ottawa Convention Centre on May 7 - 9, 2015.
