Fillmore Riley's one of the top fundraising teams for 2013 Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival.

Fillmore Riley's Dragon Boat Team, Motion to Strike Cancer, is one of the top fundraising teams for the 2013 Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival.

After participating in CancerCare Manitoba’s Challenge for Life Walk for three consecutive years and raising more than $66,000, Fillmore Riley made a splash during its first year in the Dragon Boat Races and raised almost $21,000.

A CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba partnership, the Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival raises funds for research, care and support for Manitoba kids living with cancer.

"Our team was very passionate about fundraising for this important cause," said Nicolle Brockie, the General Manager at Fillmore Riley LLP and Team Captain of Motion to Strike Cancer. "We’re proud of how our firm rallied behind us and supported our fundraising and came out to cheer us on at the races."

At the closing ceremony for the Festival, Fillmore Riley received awards for "Best Sportsmanship" and for being the "Best Dressed" team.

"Our team’s passion for this important cause was evident. We're so pleased that our efforts will help Manitoba kids fighting the battle of their lives," said Nicolle.

The races took place at The Forks on September 13th, 14th, & 15th, 2013. Fillmore Riley has already signed up to participate in the 2014 Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival.
