The Insurance Law Practice Group is the culmination of our firm’s long history of representation of insurance companies. With a focused commitment to providing timely, professional and cost-effective services, we have earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most highly respected insurance law firms.
Fillmore Riley is a member of Risk Management Counsel of Canada (RMC), a national association of independent law firms with expertise in risk management by providing a range of cost effective and quality services for the insurance industry, risk retention groups and self-insureds. As an RMC member, Fillmore Riley enjoys strong support from both the property and casualty insurance industry and self-insureds, and utilizes top-tier technology in the effort to solve our clients' risk management problems.

Industry Involvement
Insurance group members have developed an excellent working relationship with other associations and individuals who provide services to the insurance industry. These include adjusters, forensic accountants, engineers from various disciplines, fire investigators, government offices and agencies, medical rehabilitation and evaluation parties, and investigators. We have access to and familiarity with all of the corollary services necessary to provide representation for our insurance clients.
We have extensive trial and appellate advocacy experience and many of our lawyers have training and experience in alternative dispute resolution techniques.
Our group members have been instrumental in the development of court rules to expedite the litigation process, and have had leading roles in the promotion and expansion of alternative dispute resolution, and particularly mediation, in Manitoba.
Frequently our group members present seminars on insurance issues to industry groups such as adjusters, agents and brokers, claims representatives and underwriters, as well as other lawyers and students.
