Biography
Derek practises corporate and commercial law, primarily in the areas of technology and intellectual property, merger and acquisitions and commercial real estate.
Derek is a registered trademark agent, licensed by the Canadian Association of Patent and Trademark Agents. He offers clients an extensive level of experience acquired over his 30 years of advising clients in virtually all industries and at all stages of the business life cycle.
Derek has long been involved with the Winnipeg chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bioscience Association of Manitoba and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. Derek leads the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology practices, and he also chairs the firm's Technology Committee.
