Fillmore Riley welcomes articling students for 2010.
July 6, 2010

We are pleased to introduce our articling students, Jason Roberts and Maria Penner, who have embarked on a path to a great future.

To ensure our students get the most out of articling, we’ve implemented what we call the Gatekeeper System.

Under this system, one designated partner receives all of the student assignments from lawyers in the firm and evenly distributes the assignments among students.

By effectively managing the work flow, the “gatekeeper” exposes students to a diverse range of legal work and helps students to build relationships with lawyers in their practice areas of interest.

Over the past decade, more than 90% of our articling students have been offered positions with the firm. Over the last four years, 100% of our students have been asked to join the firm on a full-time basis.

While a firm of our size could accommodate the hiring of a large number of students, we have always endeavoured to hire no more people than we reasonably anticipate hiring as lawyers after the call to the Bar.
