Areas of Focus
Stuart Blake is a partner of our firm and practices nearly exclusively in the areas of insurance law with an emphasis on commercial liability insurance, general insurance defence matters, aviation law, professional errors and omissions insurance, audit and accounting errors and omissions insurance, product liability, fire claims and coverage disputes. Stuart represents several Canadian, American and London based insurance companies as defence, subrogation and coverage counsel. Stuart has appeared in all levels of court in Manitoba and the Federal Court of Canada. Stuart has also practiced extensively in the Kenora and Thunder Bay, Ontario jurisdictions and he is familiar with the Ontario auto insurance scheme. Stuart has also represented clients in mediation under various ADR schemes.
Stuart has lectured, presented papers and conducted seminars to various insurance groups and he has participated in a number of continuing education lectures. He is a keen animal lover and is a board member of the Winnipeg Humane Society, currently serving as its past President. He is also an executive member of the Winnipeg Humane Society Foundation and has been overseeing the Winnipeg Humane Society’s recent Capital Campaign. Stuart has served as a council member of the Manitoba Bar Association and has been actively involved in a variety of local community affairs including serving as a volunteer football coach at the high school level. Stuart is also an avid golfer.
