Areas of Focus
Doug has been a partner at Fillmore Riley since 1983. Commercial practice mostly related to real property law, general corporate and commercial law, mortgage sale and foreclosure proceedings, and wills and estates.

Much of Doug's practice is related to real property law, and in particular mortgage sale and foreclosure proceedings. He has extensive experience in both commercial and residential foreclosures and has presented to The Law Society of Manitoba on the Rules in Mortgage Sale and Foreclosure Proceedings.

From 1990 - 1995, Doug served on the Manitoba Mortgage Sale and Foreclosure Committee which produced the first comprehensive set of Rules in Mortgage Sale and Foreclosure Proceedings in Manitoba.

Doug acts for a number of small business clients and has a wide range of experience in general commercial matters, including business acquisitions and sales, corporate re-organizations, and shareholder issues.

Doug has also acted in purchases and sales of commercial and residential real estate, commercial leasing, and general commercial matters. He has also had substantial experience in preparation of security for commercial and residential lenders for leasehold and freehold property.
