Representative Transactions Dan has been involved in include:

• The sale of Unicity Integrated Logistics and Unicity Custom Services to PBB Global Income Fund for $45 million
• Western Financial Group’s acquisition of 49% of Hayhurst Elias Dudek Inc.
• The sale of Frantic Films Corporation’s visual effects division to a publicly traded company based in Mumbai, India
• The merger of the Province of Manitoba’s Caisse Populaires which, on completion, created a Caisse populaire with 27 branches and over $700 million in aggregate assets

  Dan has also: 

• Represented a publicly traded hotelier in its sale of hotels across Western Canada for aggregate sale proceeds in excess of $50 million
• Acted as counsel on the development, leasing and financing of a 47 unit life lease project, and has subsequently advised interim and sub-debt lenders in respect of life lease development financings
• Acted as local counsel for a number of national law firms in respect of the formation, structuring and financing of Manitoba limited partnerships, and has given numerous legal opinions in respect of limited partnership financings
• Acted as lead counsel for a private investor in its purchase of a Marina and Resort in Northern Ontario, as well as its investment in natural gas rights in the Province of British Columbia
• Acted as lead counsel in a number of asset and share purchase transactions involving mid-sized Manitoba businesses ($1 Million to $10 Million) and in connection with the purchase and sale of various types of commercial real estate (retail, industrial, multi-tenant, hotels, farming etc.)
• Advised franchisees in connection with franchise acquisition and financing (including for Tim Hortons and Dairy Queen franchises)
• Acted for several Manitoba School Divisions in connection with their purchase, sale and leasing of commercial property, and in tendering, negotiating and implementing significant service agreements (including school bus and technology services contracts, and education agreements with First Nations)
• Acted as local counsel in National and International multi-million dollar financings
• Drafted numerous complex commercial agreements, including tax planned shareholder agreements and partnership agreements.
